This award allows you to gain knowledge of the Boy’s Brigade movement both in Australia and internationally, an understanding of its working in order to contribute to improving it or creating new movements yourself and how to develop and teach others practical skills primarily using the activity of drill.
Six Month Service Badge
To obtain your Six Month Service Badge you need to:
- Be in BB Seniors for six months
- Know The BB Motto
- Know The Object of BB
- Date of the start of BB
- Wear BB uniform correctly
- The company Name and Structure
- Basic understanding the award system.
- Basic Drill movements
Pre-Certificate
For this you will need to be in or finished the first year of high school, have the Six Month Service Award and be able to demonstrate:
- a continued knowledge of the Object
- a knowledge of the Motto and its origin
- a knowledge of BB origins and history from the Handbook
- an ability to carry out all movements of Elementary Drill
- a Knowledge of Drill definitions
- a practical ability as a member of a Drill Squad.
- a knowledge of Drill definitions
- a practical ability as a member of a Drill Squad.
Certificate
For this you will need to be in or finished second year of high school, have the Six Month Service Award and Preliminary Certificate and be able to demonstrate:
- a continued knowledge of the Object
- a knowledge of the Motto and its origin
- a knowledge of BB origins and history in Australia.
- a knowledge of BB State and National organisation
- a knowledge of Squad Drill Theory
- an ability to carry out all movements of Squad Drill
- a practical ability to act as a Guide in Squad Drill.
